How can I correct Windows XP Professional, SP1, so it will recognize a plug in Floppy Disk Drive in my Dell Inspiron 8500?

A clean install of WinXP on another hard drive recognizes the drive, but I need to repair the original OS installation if possible to maintain integrity of my customer's many programs/data.

Greetings,

Try installing the USB floppy disk drive with the proper drivers.

Thanks and best of luck!

Jose, thanks for the response, but reistallation of the drivers did not help. It looks like I'm going to have to repartition and reinstall everything.
