WinXP VPN via DSL connection for Remote Desktop

Hello

I have a home computer with WinXP and believe I have set up the VPN properly by building an Incoming network connection. Because this computer connects to the internet via DSL, I have no idea how to determine the IP Address of that machine so that I can use Remote Desktop when I have my laptop outside of the house.

The Home computer is connected directly to the DSL Modem

1. How do I determine my Home computer's IP address
2. What address do I enter into the laptop Browser window to use Remote Desktop via Web
3. Where can I find concrete information for setting up the Home computer's Incoming Network Connection to make the above possible

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

hi Michael
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Have a look at dynamic dns services eg www.dyndns.org . These often offer
free accounts. You'll also need some client software running on your pc to
update the IP address record on their Name Servers when necessary. You
should find a list of these on the dynamic dns service web site or you can
do a google.
