WinXP System Restore problem

Hi,
I have Compaq presario 2500 laptop. I was in process of restoring it to
factory default setting using Compaq Quick restore CDs. The first CD
ran fine and it prompted to enter the next CD. After I entered the
second CD it continued the process and gave an error "The CD does not
have correct content" (the message was 100% not exactly this but this
was the meaning). I tried taking out and inserting the CD back but same
message appear. I enetered the thrid CD but the same message. It gave
OK and Cancel button on the messgae dialog box. i pressed Cancel and it
tool me to a dos prompt. ta this point I could not restart the process
so I shut doen the computer and restarted with first quick restore CD.
Now after it did some pre-bootable process it said "No operating
System" and the cursor get on blinking. So I inserted the Win XP SP1
home edition CD to recover windows and subsequently run the restore
process again. But now it does not start windows. The XP CD is read and
all the files are loaded but when it says Starting windows the computer
shuts down (powered off).
I tried using Win 2000 pro bootable CD but the same result happens.
Pls help me in resolving this issue.

Thanks,
Rag

Posting the same message twice wont make someone give you an answer if they
don't have one.
