WinXP Screensaver activation

By accident I found that by using the Winkey on the keyboard and the "L" you
could activate the screensaver instantly. I had to reinstall my OS and now
this feature doesn't work. How do I get it back, it was very helpful.

WinKey + L = lock the desktop in XP. If it's not working then perhaps you
have a keyboard that is broken? Does the WinKey work with Pause Break?
Winkey + R? I don't suppose you've used an application like WinKey Killer?
There's a slim chance that this could be malware related though it's
something new to me if it is. I'd give a nice formal scan if a second
keyboard doesn't work. (Does, perhaps, your WinKey have a way to toggle on
and off? Have you used a key remapping utility?)

How do I update or reinstall the keyboard driver? If my keyboard isn't
working, that seems to be the only function that is not correct.

I just tested WinKey with "r" and pause break and it works. It just seems to
be with the "L".

Sheesh... I may have to sit down and think about this one??? (I love the
hard ones really, they make me actually dig and learn and I know I don't
know enough so it's good to learn.) This one *could* take a while but I'm
going to set about doing a reg search to see if there's something I can
find. I don't think this is going to help, I really don't, but if you could
start > run > type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and paying attention to
the space and hit enter it might. If nothing else it will let us know it's
not a Windows file that's gone awry. I suppose it could also be malware but
let's try this first and I'll ping the DTS folks in the morning to see if
they've heard of this one before.
