WinXP registry problem

Hello,
I have some problems with deleting registry entry. Some
time ago there was a user on Windows XP Professional
machine with administrator rights, let's say it
was "john". From john's account the was installed special
software. After some time john's account was deleted with
all it's files on the disk. I logged on as "Administrator"
and uninstalled the special software. But after that I
have found couple registry keys left by the software. I
want to delete them, but I get an error message that I am
unable to do that. When I try to take take over
permissions I am also warned that I can't do that. Until
that registry entry is there I can't reinstall that
special software. Is there a way to get rid of the
registry entry without reinstalled WinXP? It looks like
Administrator can't delete registry entries made by
another user with administrator rights and it seems very
weird to me... Thanks for your help !

use the at command to schedule "regedit.exe". It will then
be running in the System secrity context. Chances are
System has the necessary permissions to delete the keys.
