WinXP redial problem

Hi

I've just upgraded my home PC from Win98 SE to WinXP for few days. Everything seems ok but there are some difficulties with the Internet dialup line. It always asks me to redial. Sometimes it can establish the connection but the line is often dropped, that has never been happened with my early Win98 version

Is there any setting I should make to deal with this problem

It seems Ive a similar trouble. From time to time, I lose
my ADSL conection. XP automatically redial apparently
successfully. But IE can no longer access the network.
I've to reboot. I got also the following error DNS CACHE
ID 11050
