WinXP Pro and Group Policy

I have a computer running Windows XP Pro. A few months ago I had a security
issue and I thought I used the TweakUI program to lock down the desktop and
permissions. Yesterday I tried to unistall the TweakUI program but I couldn't
find it anywhere. I logged in as the Administrator but still could not find
any of the files associated with the program. I then went to the MMC and I
had nothing in the console that had saved security permissions. My machine is
still locked down and I cannot get rid of the settings. I tried to add the
Group Policy snap-in but I received an error with the CLSID and it wouldn't
allow me to install this snap-in. Apart from going through the Recovery
Console, any ideas?

Thank you for the suggestion, however I failed to mention that I tried that
too. I also ran a search for "tweak" and "tweakui" but nothing was found. I
even went through the registry and ran a search through there and it only
found one instance of tweakui so I deleted the strings, but it didn't work. I
still have stringent security and user permissions that I need to stop.

If all you did with TweakUI was access the Group Policy Editor, you can...

Start | Run | Type: gpedit.msc | Click OK |

Group Policy policy Settings.

Not Configured = Specifies that no change is made to the registry for this
setting.

Enabled = Specifies that the registry indicate that the policy applies to
users or computers that are subject to this Group Policy object.

Disabled = Specifies that the registry indicate that the policy does not
apply to users or computers that are subject to this Group Policy object.

Any other changes that you made with TweakUI are still going to be in
affect.
