I installed a larger hard drive on my WinXP system; I went from a 20
gig C: drive to a 200 gig drive. Let's just say that I had a
considerable adventure in getting it installed, but in the end, I
managed to end up with the following configuration:

New C: drive - 78.4 MB
Old D: drive - 37.2 GB (No change)
New E: drive - 186 GB

I did not create the New E: drive - it just sort of appeared. The New
C: drive has the following folders:
Recycler
System volume information
boot.ini
CONFIG.SYS
IO.SYS
MSDOS.SYS
NTDETECT.COM
ntldr
wialog.txt

All of the other programs and files we had on the Old C: drive is now
on the New E: drive.

How can I get back to my previous configuration whereby I had one
partition on the C: drive and it contains every program and file that
I want there?

How did you go from a 20 gig C: drive to 37.2 GB?
Did the old drive have more than one partition?

You will have to reinstall Windows to get XP installed to one partition.
The Registry contains information stating that XP is installed on E:.

Does you version on XP included SP 1 or 2?
Without either version, all of the 200 gig drive will not be recognized when
trying to create one partition.
