WinXP Logon - No Accounts Listed

M

Mike

When booting my PC, windows takes me to the sign on screen where you
pick a user account from the list of active user accounts. Currently
however, there are no user accounts listed. The screen says "To Begin,
click your username", but there are no usernames to click.

This occured recently after installing XP service pack 2. Pressing
CTRL + ALT + DEL brings up the standard windows logon dialog, but the
username I had does not work.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? What possible solutions
are there?

the
username I had does not work.

Was it for the System Admin? If so, it shouldn't work. Use the drop box.

The workaround is to boot into Safe Mode to the Admin account and log in.
From there, perform a System Restore.
