Hello,

I have just replaced a Win98SE PC with a new WinXP Home PC with SP1 for my wife.
It came with MS Works installed, are there any issues using Office 2K on XP
Home?

I have the original Office 2K CD's,
also have the Office 2K SP1, 2 & 3 on CD, will it be O.K to install these also?

Many thanks.. David

Hi David

I had no problems running Office 2K. Make sure that you go to the Office update site to stay up to date.

Hi David

You can install in that order or you can install Office 2K and then go straight to the update page, depending on the speed of your Internet connection.

Works fine for me -- 1 XP Home and 1 XP Pro machine.

All updates and Service Packs installed OK. You can go directly from SP1 to
SP3.

I'm XP Pro SP1 with Office 2K. Works great.

Sorry for the late post/follow-up, I hope this is picked up.
I have been away working.

Should I do the WinXP updates 1st, then install Office 2K + it's SP's?
or
Install Office 2K + it's SP, then do the Windows XP updates.

or does it not matter on the sequence?

Many Thanks - David

First and foremost make sure you are running a firewall before connecting to
the Net. Then I'd suggest updating XP first. Then Office. Then make sure you
are running updated anti-virus software.

Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks..
Yes I have the Firewall enabled on the router, and Firewall on the PC.

Hopefully DSL in a couple of hours.. Then I can give it a test :)
