WINXP Home Edn. & Win2000 Server Network Connection Help !!!!

Hi everybody,
I'm not a native english speaker,so please forgive me for mistakes..

I have WinXP Home edn. in my laptop, and Win2000 server edn. in my work pc.
I want to transfer files from work PC to my laptop,for this I bought a
crossover cable,both computers have ethernet cards.

I want to learn how to make that connection between these 2 different
Windows editions...

If anybody can help me for this i'll be glad to her/him..

You started right - Ethernet cable, and Ethernet cards on both computers.
Assuming that both Ethernet cards, and the cable work, you're halfway there.

Once you have physical connectivity, activate the Guest account properly, and
setup a share on the work computer.
