How do I set up a peer to peer Win2000 WinXP home network

Hello.
I would like to know how I can set up a peer to peer Win2000 Pro and a
WinXP Pro machine.
My desktop at home is my XP Pro box. My Win2k is my work laptop
machine.
I bought my cat5 crossover cable to connect the two.
My needs are really simple here, file sharing only.
All I want to be able to do here is connect the two up, allow file
sharing on the XP box so that the 2000 machine can see XP's "F" drive.
(this is a Maxtor external drive on my XP Pro box via USB)
I need to move some files off of the 2000 Laptop drive to the XP Pro
"F" Drive.

If you know the steps to do this, I would appreciate hearing from you.
