Hibernation works great on all the computers I've ever used...but whether on
a network or just home PC, I of course have username and passwords, they let
me into my account (duh). And to my Encrypted data. EFS works fine, but If
I use a diskette with the system key, then logon, my data is as safe as
Windows is going to get it. But hibernating, computer committs data to HD,
shuts off. Then I go in, turn on PC and it goes right back to where I left
off...OK for home users..., but even when I leave my console, hit Windows Key
+L, locking the screen, should the power go out the system, if the batteries
get too low, hibernates. Then someone can come along and hit the power
button, and boom, no startup diskette, no username, no passwords...Sheesh!!

In Control Panel, double click Power Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
On the Advanced page, put a check mark in the box next to
"Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby".
Click OK.

Now, when you return from Hibernation, you should be asked for
a password. The same will happen if the computer goes into
Standby mode.

Good luck
