WinXP Explorer Copies My Documents with Hidden Attribute

The drive on my laptop recently died and I replaced it. While waiting for the drive to be delivered, I created a new user on the desktop computer that is also part of my home network. When the drive arrived and I replaced it, formatted it, and reinstalled WinXP on the laptop, I copies the My Documents folder from the desktop (where I had been doing work during the interim) to the laptop, replacing the My Documents folder created with I installed WinXP. However, now the My Documents folder on the laptop, and all folders within it are fixed with the Hidden attribute. If I open the properties for the My Documents folder on my laptop and remove the Hidden attribute and instruct Explorer to cascade the removal to all subfolders, Explorer does so. But, once I close Explorer and reopen it, the Hidden attribute has been re-affixed. I have administrator status during all of this on both the laptop and the desktop computers.

How do I copy the My Documents folder from the desktop to the laptop without the Hidden attribute?

Thank you.

Do not worry about it. Even though it is marked as Hidden or in most cases
Read the folders should still be viewable and not read only. This is a bug
in the OS that marks these folders incorrectly.
