WinXP Defrag error message

When I try to defrag my "C" drive I get a neeror message
that tells me that "This version of Disk Defragmenter
does not support running more than one instance". I am a
home user not running a network. Any idea what is
causing this error message?

Check whether you have Disk Defragmenter as a Scheduled Task. If so it is already running when you try manually starting Disk Defragmenter.
