WinXP continually reboots

Using the recovery console " r " switch I supposedly repaired the drive but
when it rebooted it continually reboots.
Even when I try the safe mode using F8 it continually reboots
Can I get to the safe mode any other way so I can restore to an earlier date?

Thanks,

Sorry but when I try booting in the safe mode with a command prompt the
reboot loop is there also.
Any other ideas?

Appreciate it,

Also, I get this blue screen telling me "setup is being restarted". When I
let it continue I get a dialogue box that tells me something to the effect
"not enough virtual memory" as best as I can read it. It's only visable for
less than a second then it reboots again.

Thanks,

You can stop this thread, none of the suggestions helped so I just
re-installed.
