Winxp backup question

I lost pwer during installation of a windows update, and
now >I cant get into windows. I am prepared to reinstall
widows, but I need to backup my files from MSDOS before I
do. When I attempted to reinstall, the computer gave e
this message..."NON MSDOS partition using entirte hard
disc, backup can remove the files and reconfigure your
hard disc. >If you choose this option, all files on this
disc will be deleted."
I dont want that to happen! ~Please Help ME!!!!

Windows XP is not based on MS-DOS, hence you cannot boot into it.
