HI

I have problem with WINS on 2003 DC.
Before dcpromo I have installed WINS and DNS services on 2003 Windows
server.
TCP/IP properties has WINS and DNS entries for other server.
I have also configured replication with WINS servers on other windows 2000
server (pull replication)

After sucessful dcpromo I can't connect to WINS server with mmc console.
Error message: access is denied.You must be member of WINS admin or WINS
USERS group. There is no WINS admin security group in our AD.
Wins server is started and no error or warning events are in event log.

We have only 2 servers in domain and both are DC. One of them will be
exchange 2003 so I need WINS service.
I've searched MS KB but can't find any solution.
I changed TCP/IP properties - WINS and DNS point only to itself. I have
uninstalled WINS and reinstalled WINS.

Anybody can help - want to connect and manage WINS on 2003 DC.

try adding the Local Service with READ permission to the WINREG key in
hklm\system\currentcontrolset\control\securepipeservers\
