WINS server issues. "Remote WINS may not be configured to replicate"

Hi all,

I have a DC (2000 server mixed mode) acting as WINS primary server.

Originally it had two replication partners, both in push/pull
replication mode, both in different subnets (each being DC for their
own sub-domain.)

In the event log of my secondary DC in my domain, I was seeing WINS
errors of:

EVENT ID: 4102
The connection was aborted by the remote WINS. Remote WINS may not be
configured to replicate with the server.

On the primary WINS eventlog I found the following:

EVENT ID: 4126
The WINS server received a pull request from the non-configured WINS
server with the address, 192.168.100.25. The WINS server rejected it
since the remote WINS server is not in the list of Pull partners (WINS
servers under the Pull key) and the administrator has prohibited (using
the registry) replication with non-configured partners. If you want
this WINS server to accept update notifications from WINS servers not in
the "pull partner" list, then set the "replication only with configured
partners" value in the registry to 0.

Date bytes: 0000: 92 06 00 00 00 00 00 00 ’.......

Which I found to be an issue of the secondary DC trying to replicate
WINS information with the primary WINS.

So, I added the secondary DC as a PUSH/PULL replcation partner (with
default settings for the rest) of the primary WINS.

All well I thought, but I am getting the following errors now:

* Again EVENT ID 4102 as above.

* EVENT ID: 4141
WINS pulled records from a WINS while doing Pull replication. The
partner's address and the owner's address whose records were pulled are
given in the data section (second and third DWORD respectively). The
number of records pulled is the fourth DWORD.

Data Bytes:
0000: 0e 06 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0008: 02 01 a8 c0 01 00 00 00 ..¨À....

The one thing that worried me, is when I look at the WINS console, I
see:

Description,Details,
Server start time,11/18/2004 9:59:05 AM,
Database initialized,.. ..,
Statistics last cleared,.. ..,
,,
Last periodic replication,12/15/2004 4:49:15 PM,
Last manual replication,12/15/2004 12:02:46 PM,
Last net update replication,.. ..,
Last address change replication,.. ..,

And now the head is scratched...so that says that the DB has not been
ini'ed?

am i right?

any help woudl be appreicated..
tia,
bernard
