WINS question

Currently i'm suing Win2000 server and try to setup wins but when i go
into WINS , it reported that it cannot find wins server. Pls advise
what is wrong. Thanks

Make sure that the wins service is started, that the server is also
configured to be a wins client and just to itself, that the remote registry
service is started, and look in Even Viewer for any pertinent errors. --

Steven yes service already started and how to make the server itself a
wins client ? I believe wins can be started even without any client
connected to it right ? The error in the Wins is that it cannot find
the wins server.

In tcp/ip properties advanced/wins, add it's IP address to the wins server
list and it should be the only entry and make sure netbios over tcp/ip is
enabled also while you are in the wins configuration page. --- Steve
