I had a question for one of the WINS experts out there
I have a WINS server that is replicating with a number of other wins servers
at different company sites and recently noticed that most servers with
dynamic registrations are missing their messenger [03h] records across all
of the wins servers. They have the file server and workstation records, but
we were finding machines that couldn't communicate properly for file sharing
and some other items. Once we added static entries for the servers that
were having the communication issues, it cleared the problem up, but i'm
trying to figure out why we're missing most of these messenger 03h records,
or how we get them back without adding static entries for all the server in
wins. Any ideas?
