WINS Config ?

is recommended that in an NT 4.0 environment, the WINS
server(s) should have both PRI/SEC WINS addresses set to
the local address if the server(s) is operating in a WINS
replication model. Does anyone know if this is also
recommended in W2K?

Same principle... but you only need the WINS sever to be its own primary...
no seconday needed.

why tell it to register with itself, in the even that itself is not avilable

Its a configuration malady that was remedied from 4.0 to 2000.
