Winows Mail: recover from MS Office Outlook '03 mail ?

Upgraded from XP Pro to Vista. MS Outlook 2003 replaced by Windows Mail.
How can I recover / Import MS Outlook 2003 mail files not previously backed
up to
Windows Mail ?

Outlook 2003 will install under Vista and make the transfer easier.
