winnt.sif commands?

T

Tom Hagen Jr

I'm trying to find all the possible commands that can be used in the
winnt.sif file after SP4 has been applied. I know there are several updates
so I'm trying to gather all the updates but not able to find them.

Thanks,

Dear Tom,

Thank you for your post.

We can find the detailed information on how to write an answer file in the
latest deployment package.

Please download the latest sysprep 1.1 from the following Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&familyid=0c4b
fb06-2824-4d2b-abc1-0e2223133afb

After you extract the package, please browse to the "docs" subfolder and
check the unattend.doc file.

I hope this document helps. Thank you for using our news groups!

Thanks, but this does not appear to have all the information. Like the part
that with SP3 and SP4 that you can have the commands:

[Components]
IEACCESS=OFF
OEACCESS=OFF
WMPOCM=OFF

This is what I'm looking for. Unless these are the only commands that are
updated for the unattend.txt, sysprep.inf, or winnt.sif. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Dear Tom,

Thank you for your patience.

Based on my research, these three parameters (IEAccess, OEAccess and
WMPOCM) are new in Windows 2000 SP3, and so far I do not find other
updates. The Unattend.doc file is not updated. Instead, the new settings
were documented in a white paper which are shipped on the service pack CD,
giving instructions on how to deploy the service pack. That document is
published at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/spdeploy.htm

More Reference:

1. Windows 2000 SP4 Deployment Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/SP4/deploytools.
asp

2. Windows XP SP1a Corporate Deployment Tools
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/deploytool
s.asp

You can get more information in the ref.chm file, which contains all of the
published settings for winnt.sif. This file is for Windows XP but most
parameters described in it should also work for Windows 2000.

I hope the above information helps. Thank you for using our news groups!

the only one you're missing is the AutoUpdate= directive, also under
[components]. It determines whether the automatic updates component
included with SP3 gets installed.

Thanks, but this does not appear to have all the information. Like the part
that with SP3 and SP4 that you can have the commands:

[Components]
IEACCESS=OFF
OEACCESS=OFF
WMPOCM=OFF

This is what I'm looking for. Unless these are the only commands that are
updated for the unattend.txt, sysprep.inf, or winnt.sif. Please let me
know.
