Hi, I'm (very!) new to this. I've downloaded WinMx v3.53 and keep getting a
message that my Windows Media Player doesn't support the file types. Can
anyone help point a Blonde in the right direction?

In Windows Media Player, have a look in Tools > Options > "File Types"
tab. What file types are you trying to play?

Most all files on WinMX are in MP3 format. Your WMP should be set to play
MP3s. Check under Tools/Options/File Types tab and check MP3, click OK.
