WinME and XP Pro

Mona

I just got a new PC and installed Win XP Pro using the
NTFS file system.

I want to add my old hard drive to the new PC. It has
WinME installed on it, but I just want to know if I can
access/open the old files on it with XP? I do NOT want to
boot to it, just access the files.

Thanks for any help.

No problem. You older drive probably uses the FAT32 file system. XP
will have no trouble with that at all.

No problem. Just make sure it is cabled properly and make sure the
jumpers are set properly.

That would be fine. Just plug it in, be sure it is detected in BIOS
setup, then boot XP and it should appear as a new drive letter in My
Computer

Note that you will not be able to run programs that are on it without
installing them on XP first (in reinstalling you could tell it to use
the folder on the old ME disk if you like)
