winmail.dat attachments

Hi there

Every email I forward with an attachment, replaces the existing attachment
with a winmail.dat file, unless of course if the recipient is also using
Outlook then everything is OK.

I have Outlook 2002 SP3.

I don't run through an Exchange Server as per
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;257800

I have tried setting the sending format to both Plain Text and HTML (it was
never set to RTF to begin with) as per here
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;197064 but still no
success

I've also checked each recipients settings in the Contact List, everyone is
still set to "Let Outlook deceide the best format"

The only things I can think of that may have impacted this are
- Install of ClamWin AntiVirus. As a test I uninstalled this, same problem
persists.
- Install support for Japanese, Chinese Simplified and Chinese
raditional. - This is where I think the problem started, since I added
lanaguage support for these through Control Panel >> Regional Settings,
However now that I have since removed support for these, again the problem
is still present.

Any ideas on how to correct this, as my next step unfortauntely it to just
ditch Outlook completely.

Thanks
Chris

And you are using Outlook as the e-mail editor? Tried it in safe mode
already to make sure no add-in is causing this?

Also you can try creating a new mail profile remove the following registry
key (make an export of this key first of course)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook
