winlogon.exe-corrupt File

out of the blue I got an error message saying "The file or directory/program
files (x86) is corrupt and unreadable. Please run Chkdsk utility", so when I
go try to run a chkdsk utility it says it can't check the disk while its in
use, and I must schedule a disk check at my next restart. Yet when I restart
my computer nothing happens. The corrupt Program files (x86) keeps me from
using any programs and getting on the internet. Also the computer restarts
every 20 minutes or so without warning. I have windows vista ultimate 64 bit
and my computer is an HP pavillion HDX9000 laptop.

Find the Command Prompt in the START/All Programs and ACCESSORIES and
RIGHT click on it and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

Type in

CHKDSK /R /F

Note the spaces.

Hit enter and select "Y" to Run at start-up

That should do it
