winlogon.exe application error d000014

when attempting to boot up and logon, the error message "the instruction at
"0x716e032e" referenced memory "0x7c8ee8". The memory could not be written.
Then it XP goes awaay and the screen says "d000014 hard error". Can't get to
safe mode. What are my options?
