Hi,

In XP or Server 2003 when i hit the Winkey + E it opens up explorer which is
good.
But it defaults to My Computer.

How can i get it to default to My Documents ?

I've looked through the registry, and done some googling but it all talks
about when you launch Explorer from a shortcut...

Please let me know what i can do...

Thanks in advance

Hi,

It's a system default keyboard shortcut, I do not believe you can change the
target.

Really? I go out of my way so Explorer defaults to My Computer.

This is the registry key {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} and
what I use to open to "my computer"

If you really want to screw things up, you can edit the values of that
entry.

A better way to do this is give Explorer a short-cut key like
CTL-ALT-E - do this in the start\programs area as Desktop icons have a
tendency to loose their shortcuts.

You can change it (and define many other hotleys) using winkey (free) by
Copernic technologies. They have stopped offering it but you should be able
to find an alternate download site. If not I can always send you a copy.
