Wingdings

For some reason my computer has started displaying some
text in wingdings. When you go to display or other control
panel places the text in the selection boxes is windings
and can not be read. This has happened befor and I
reinstalled the OS. I don't want to have to do that again.

Right click on an unoccupioed area of the desktop. Click on
properties->appearance. Check each ITEM, and see if any of the fonts for
that item are in wingdings. If not, make sure that all fonts listed do in
fact exist on your system.

Less likely, but still possible: you could have a virus. Or some malicious
person mucked with your font files.
