Dear All ,
do anyone know the where is the windows XP system locate ?
like last version of windows ( windows 98SE ) is system.dat ,user.dat
,system.ini and win.ini under \windows folder .

The files you list aren't used by WinXP except for backwards compatibility
(although system.ini and win.ini can be found in the \Windows folder). As
such, the files that WinXP uses are located in the root (boot.ini, ntldr,
ntdetect.com, for example) and in Windows\System32 (ntoskrnl.exe, hal.dll,
and others but those are the most important). Is there a reason why you are
looking for the files in particular? You can go to Start->Run and type
"msconfig" to see the contents of system.ini, win.ini, boot.ini, Services
and StartUp if you wish.
