WindowsXP Service Pack 2

Hi,

I have installed WindowsXP Service Pack2 in all my XP machines. Can u turn
off the "Windows Security Center". It confuses my users and makes them
panic. I have turned off the Windows firewall as it disrupts my remote
communications.

Any ideas?

Hi

Try this:

Open the Security Center and click on 'Change the way Security Center alerts
me'. Enable/disable the options in there.

Yes, you can disable the Security Center service. (That should be enough to
kill the balloon and distractions. ;)

Control panel, security center, change the way security center alerts me,
uncheck anything you don't want to be alerted about.

Absolutely. Despite how highly the Security Center is touted, I
thnk it's a very minor feauture of SP2, and does nothing useful
for most people. I certainly don't need to be told whether my
anti-virus program and firewall are running; I already know.

In Security Center click the 'Change how Security Center advises me'and
turn off the warnings. If they come back nevertheless, turn off its
Service in Admin Tools - Services.

I trust you are protecting with some other firewall or things are in
*serious* danger
