I have been receiving an error message when shutting down WindowsXP
with SP-1 Installed.

The error message is "USRprbda.exe dll initialization failed"

I contaced US Robotics on this and they advised that the error was
being caused by Service Pack 2.

I do not know how the Q329441 SP-2 got on my computer but I contacted
USRobotics about an error message I was receiving when I shut down.
They advised the error was being caused by SP-2. I tried to delete
the file using the Control Panel/add-remove however I do not get the
remove option.

I went to the MS Knowledge Base and downloaded the "How to remove
Windows XP SP2 from your computer" and nothing seems to work.

Any assistance/help/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Based on information I have read, I do not want SP2 on my computer.

Thanks,

Sam

What does "Q329441" have to do with your problem, please? Post any error
message referencing Q329441. (There is not an SP2 version of Q329441 though
there are SP2-specific versions of the files Q329441 installs.)

IMHO US Robotics is talking out of their hat. Copy/paste the following link
into an IE (no other browser) Addressbar and click GO, then copy/paste the
results into your reply:

I am having the exact same problem when shutting down with Windows X
(but with SP-2). I get the same error message:

"USRprbda.exe dll initialization failed"

Has this problem been solved? I tried to get help from US Robotics bu
they claim "This is a Microsoft error, you will have to contact thei
technical support regarding this error message."

Any solution yet?

That file is from a USR modem. Have you tried uninstalling and
reinstalling with the latest driver?
