WindowsXP Pro and Swap File

Greg

I have a system with 1GB RAM and once Task Manager shows that around 500MB
is used the system starts acting like it's swapping everything instead of
keeping things in memory. Also, for some reason once in a while I get a low
virtual memory notification even when only 500MB (or less) of memory is in
use and the swap file settings are at default (16GB free space on swap
drive). This happens on both of my computers, each with 1GB of RAM.

Anyone else experiencing this as well, or am I the only one?

Greg, you could try rt clicking on MyComputer>Select
Prop>Advanced>Performance-Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory-Change. Click on
Custom Size>type 600 in both boxes and choose Set OK.

Rich,

Thanks for the help, unfortunately I've already tried changing it to a
custom value. I've tried quite a few ranging from 1GB down to 100MB.
