I need help finding the on/off switch for the windows pop-up blocker. Some of my programs require it to be off. such as yahoo's pagebuilder. and kazaa. and various other websites as well.

Windows does not come with a pop-up blocker. You must have a third-party
one installed, or something like Google toolbar.

OMG. If you use KaZaa WITHOUT a firewall you are doomed to get worms, viruses, and Trojan Horse. The "Pop-Up" blocker is called Internet Connection Firewall. Just search for that in help and it will tell you step by step how to disable it, but if you have no third party firewall it is truly nuts to do so.

Neither Windows nor IE provide a popup blocker. You don't identify what
popup blocking software you installed. Many of them can be temporarily
disabled by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on a link or the
Refresh toolbar button.

Greetings --

WinXP has _no_ built-in pop-up blocker.

Actually, if he's using Kazaa, he'll get the worms, viruses,
Trojans, spyware, etc, whether he's using a firewall or not. Not that
the ICF should ever be mistaken for a "pop-up blocker,' except in the
most indirect sense.
