WindowsXP Home Very Slow

T

I am running WindowsXP Home with SP2 and anytime I access
any application and/or access the Harddrive I am using too
much CPU. This started about 1 week ago. I have run all
types of Spyware, Virus, defrags, etc. So, please do not
suggest that I do so again.
I have 73% free space on my HD. My Startup Menu contains
nothing! I only have 21 processes running when I complete a
bootup.
I have run SiSoftwre Sandra Performance Tuneup Wizard and
it has found the following:
1. Vcore higher than rated maximum. Check Vcore setting. I
have no idea what this means or how to set it.
2. Operating System Disk Cache is Off.
I have checked and Enable write caching on the disk is
set. So I don't know what else to do to correct this.
3.WMIPRVSE process no longer exists. I have all updates
that I know of using WindowsXP update and MS Office 2003
updates.

Any suggestion would greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

TonynMI:
Vcore refers the core voltage of your CPU. Have you recently changed your
power source for you computer? If not, I would have a qualified tech. look at
your power supply for problems .. as far as I know, the O/S doesn't dictate
how much power it uses.

No, I have not changed my power source. Still using the
same home outlet. I am going to have a tech look at the
system this weekend. I am at a complete loss as to why my
PC is only slow on HD access. Internet access is still
normal. Thanks for your help.
