Hi,

I can not download Updates vor Vista Home Premium - preinstalled on ACER
5683WLMi.

The System works in all network-function correct. A problem is that I am not
able to deinstall the Vista FirWall. So I have som conflicts after boot
beween the (also prinstalled) Symantec Internet Security and the Vista
FirWall.

I have not found any information on Microsoft Help and KB on the keywords
"WindowsUpdate_8007007B WindowsUpdate_dt000" so I dnt no whats the matter.

You could try this:

Open Command Prompt (in Start Menu\Programs\Accessories), by right-clicking
the shortcut, and choosing Run as Administrator. At the prompt type (or
Copy and Paste):

cd C:\Windows\System32

Press Enter. Then type:

fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

Press Enter. Close Command Prompt. Reboot your computer, and try to update
again.

I'm not clear on your Firewall problem, and this may be a separate issue.
Are you saying that Control Panel > Security Center is showing two
Firewalls, and you can't turn off the Windows Firewall?

Hi,

at first thanks about your informations.

I have done aus you have written, but there was a problem: as I will "...
right-clicking the shortcut, and choosing Run as Administrator" there was no
function on "right-clicking" to do so. I don't no why because I was logedin
as user with administrator right (but not as "Administrator" - this is
vorbidden in the preinstalled System)

So I have restartet mein System in "save mode" using commandline and then
typed in the command as wirtten. There comes an answer meanig "successfull"
but the Problem (and the error-message) when I want to Download updates was
th same ?

My FireWall problem ist hat on the System "Symantec InternetSecurity 2007)
ist preinstalled and this include a "FireWall". For my personaly interest
who Symantec works I have leaf the package (also the Firewall) and turned
off the Vista-FireWall.

But: Always when the System starts up (from "Power down" or from "sleep
mode") the Vist-FireWall is turned ON and I have a conflict in my
CPU-workload (98 to 100 % !). Second I am not able to tell Vista FireWall
that I use a Printer conneted via SURECOM Printserver. If Vista-FireWall is
ON I can not print - Vista-FireWall OFF an printer works correkt.
