windowsupdate.com - Internet Connection Loss After Update

Dear Group

Has anyone experienced a loss of internet connection (Verizon Broadband)
after updating Windows XP with the latest recommended Security Packs from
http://www.windowsupdate.com? E.g. When browser is opened after update,
'Page Not Found Message' is displayed but immediately before the update it
worked perfectly fine.
If yes, what's the problem and how can it best be fixed?

Greetings:

I have experienced the same problem as many other people have, according to
what I have read on the news groups. If you have restarted your computer and
still have the problem, open the HTTP Web Server port in the XP Firewall in
advanced options configuration. Once you are able to access the internet, go
back and close the port, this has worked for me.
