WindowsEXPLORER: Folder View Option will NOT save

I prefer the "Details" folder view option in Windows Explorer, but when I
save that setup to apply to all folders, it does not save that preference,
and instead reverts to the default view of "Icons". I don't know if I have a
"corrupted" explorer.exe file or why it won't retain the preference I
selected. I am running WinXPHomeSP1. Any ideas how to fix this??

Thanks. NJmeatball 20070415

SP1 has a limit of 400 folders for remembering the settings. Upgrading to
SP2 increases that to 5000 or you can run this edit on Kelly's site.

Line 2: Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000

You should install SP2 if at all possible. It fixes other crap
as well. Something tells me that you are behind in
updates...probably to the tune of about 60.

I don't need to install SP2, I'm not the person with the issue. Might want
to reply to their post.

Thanks. I have already set it to 4000, and that made no difference, but
thanks for letting me know that that might have been the problem.

Ok, maybe 4000 isn't enough. But first apply SP2 and the post SP2 updates
and see what happens. That ups it to 5000.
