windows2000 and audio

I have just upgraded my computer system and bought a
soundcard Creative Wave Sound Blaster 5.1 PCI OEM, but I
cannot get a clear sound out, lot of static. I have read
that it may not be signed by Windows 2000. How could I
deal with this problem?
