I have used Windows since the 3.1 was out. I now have WinXP 2.After Being
forced to download it. My computer has a 160GB Hard drive. It is now so
totally messed up I may never get it straightened out & I am Very Upset. All
I get is Hangs & errors. Will not shut down, will not start up, et., etc.,
etc. My Internet Provider tech said to find a new Provider. They are as fed
up as the people who created this
"Program" ?. Thanks MS. Lyn Smegelski

If you've recently upgraded to SP2 you can still back it out....with a
restore point and using SFC using the original Win XP install CD.

. Will not shut down, will not start up,

i guess you are being locical...

if your system will not shut down...i guess it can't start up then.

and if it cannot start up, i guess it can;t shut down

probably what's best to do is fix your OS.
if it worked at one time...
try a system restore

Presumably, you have been supplied with CD's from the vendor that enable you
to restore the system back to the way it was when you first had it.

Contact the vendor for instructions on how to use the CD's, and if you do
not have any, ask the vendor to supply them.

If you have an instruction manual for your computer, now would be a good
time to look at it..

You are the very person that needs SP2. Your system is so corrupted with
viruses, adware, hijacts etc you need to find someone that understands the
OS and knows how to clean it up and set up the protection devices. You are a
user and as such are a target for every spammer on the internet. Get your
act together and pay someone to clean and set up your computer as the
problem is you and not Windows.

98% of the computers that have SP2 installed have no problems. Your
computer obviously had problems that were exacerbated by the SP2
installation.

Your ISP probably told you to move on because they are fed up with you. I
cannot believe they told you to go to another ISP because you installed SP2
and they are fed up with MS.

Perhaps you could have asked for assistance, citing the specific issues you
are having, instead of coming here and posting an arrogant, self-centered
rant.

Do you have any specific problem(s) that you need help with, or
are you just venting?
