windows xp will not turn computer off ,when you click on button to shut down or turn off it just does a restart ,the only way u can shut computer down is the on and off switch and then when you turn computer back on it scans disk for errors ,tried all the updates for xp and mother board nothing helps also change the power supply ,also the bios suspend and soft off,using an asus a7n8x mother board and win xp home edition upgrade ,one GH of memory,amd processor 1.2 gh ,abt ready to go back to SE 98 and forget it,was thinking they could be a patch for this problem but unabel to find one

Maybe it's just my appallingly bad speed reading, but I failed to notice a
single sentence in that diatribe. No capital letters, no full stops, and
commas strewn about for the sheer hell of it. Please try to stict to common
conventions when posting - it's for your own benefit, as many folk will not
take the time and trouble to put them in for you and you decrease your
chances of receiving assistance. It doesn't take a minute to check your
posts before sending, and it will be of great benefit - both to you - and to
others who may be able to assist you, but don't because they can't decipher
the post!
