Windows Xp

My Laptop Toshiba Rt1 was working fine. I just powered it
up and now all I get is the quick Toshiba banner across
and then blank screen with a flasing cursor. I am running
windows XP home edition with SP2.

Can anyone please help?

I have tried pressing F12 while booting up but it won't
let me get into BIOS. Nothing works.

I wonder if this might be a case of the Kernel32.dll file being missing.
Rather than write out a possible fix, please take a look at
http://www.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;310396 and see if
the circumstances match yours.

The Toshibas I've used require you to either press Esc or F1 to acces
the BIOS. Have you tried F8 to access the boot menu & then tried fo
safe mode or step by step confirmation
