What do I need in order to upgrade Windows XP Home
Edition to Professional so that I can use Word, Excel,
Powerpoint and Outlook instead of the works system that
comes with Home Edition.

Is the installation a simple process of uninstalling XP
Home Edition and installing XP Professional. Will all of
my other programs be affected - digital camera software
etc.

Hi Amber,

You don't need to upgrade to Pro to run/install Office programs.

Works did not come with XP Home. It was most likely bundled with the
computer as part of the sale.

Word, Excel Powerpoint, and Outlook do not come with XP Pro. Yu need to
buy the Ms Office suite. Note, Powerpoint does not come with Office Small
Business Edition.
