I have another computer in my home that runs windows xp.
Its a HP 7955 series computer. Well I ended up with a
virus and started to format and restore the computer, then
it really screwed up. Now I can't get a floppy or a cd rom
to start up when i reboot the computer, and I get all
kinds of different types of writing other than english and
if the restore should happen to start it freezes half way
through. Ive tried emergency boot disks and all. nothing
will work. Can someone please help me?

It sounds like that virus didn't go down with taking your
computer with it. Unless you have any important
information on there, try reformating it again. But don't
restore Windows, that's probably where you went wrong. The
log that you tried to restore the disk with must have been
damaged by the virus. To me, it sounds like you need to
start with a clean slate.

I would not just reformat, but also re-partition, the partition table could
also be corrupted. And if you had the virus when you created your restore
disks, it will also be restored.

Are you sure you had a virus? You could have a hardware problem (disk or
memory errors, mainboard, corrupted BIOS, etc.)
