What features of windows xp can i use before i upgrade a my driver's software
that will help me recover in case of failed installation

Hi Tarra,

System Restore can protect against filed driver installations. Create a
manual before proceeding with the driver installation.

It's a good idea to test System Restore before doing so to make sure it
has not been damaged.

How do I Test System Restore's functionality?

Create a new restore point named TEST.
Create a new folder in the desktop an name it TEST.
Now restore to the Test restore point.
You will receive a message if the restore was successful, and the Test
folder on the desktop will be gone.
