A few months ago, I upgraded my son's computer from ME to
XP. Recently he started getting errors that he was low on
Virtual Memory. I was told that that is due to an
application problem, so I should reinstall Windows XP. I
tried to do the upgrade again, but the setup hangs on the
Installing Windows step. When I restart the computer, it
takes me right back to the setup. I want to cancel the
upgrade, but I'm not prompted to do so. I tried hitting
the F3 button, but when I choose not to continue with the
upgrade, it takes me back to the set up and hangs in the
same spot. I've tried several times to restart the
computer and cancel the setup, but it's not allowing me
to. My question is, does anyone know of a way to cancel
out of the setup, so I can get out of this loop?

Thanks in advance for your help!

INsert your XP CDROM and boot your machine from the CD,
then select "repair"
