My newly re-installed xp on laptop gets to the point where it says
"windows shutting down" - but it doesnt, and I have to manually close it
down. There is hardly anything on this computer - so why would this be
happening?

Will - I looked at both those sites, but couldnt find anything XP related to
the non-shut down of Windows. It mentioned ME, 2000 etc., and other window
problems, but not specifically non-shutting. Hope I didnt miss anything
though
Judy (thanks for the sites though)

Hi

The first link is specifically for XP shutdown problems.. The second link
is a general troubleshooter for Windows.

All fine now thanks Will
