Windows XP Won't Let Me Stay Signed on!

Hey
I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with this problem
When I sign on to my account it will give me the message "loading your
personal settings" then it will give me the message"saving your settings" and
"logging off" everytime I try to sign in and i have a dell latitude C4000 so
it doesnt have a floppy drive or cd drive but i had attached a cd drive
through the cardbus and tried everything I could like converting the floppy
start up disks onto cd's and what not
could someone please help me
I would appreciate it a ton!

Can you logon via Safe Mode and then, perhaps, restore or check the startup
programs?

Try safe mode again and this time try the default administrator account and
see if you can logon to that. If you can't then it may well be time for a
repair installation.
